Sad news today...many of our local teachers were told they don't have a job at the end of this school year. Several that I know personally. How did our schools get into this situation? It seems there's no easy answer. At the same time other businesses in our area are suffering and letting employees go as well.
When we find our hope in Jesus Christ we can trust in Him to provide all we need, no matter what our job situation may be. Psalm 30:5 says that weeping may last through the night but joy comes in the morning. The morning always comes and with it renewed hope: joy is available.
My favorite Psalm is 121. The Lord doesn't sleep, he watches over his children at all times. He is completely aware when jobs are in jeopardy, hearts are broken and nothing seems certain.
Our prayers are with our teacher friends. They're not just working a job, they are fulfilling a calling and shaping the future.
